The location for this gathering was Larry’s idea and it became obvious that a lot of the BMCU members agreed with his choice. Diamond Lil’s is probably one of the most unique restaurants in Utah. If you can imagine Knott’s Berry Farm you’re there. It’s a total wild west saloon and eatin’ house both inside and out and seats 500 within the various rooms. It didn’t start out this way though, it was a modest home in 1969 and remodeled with old barn wood and cabin logs to seat 32. Prime rib and bread were baked in a home sized gas oven. That was then but the original charm is still there now.
Our group was given a very comfy banquet room with two servers dedicated to just us. The owner came by to thank us and make sure all was well. The fare was as expected, generous and down home good. Members enjoying were Larry & Margaret Farrington, Rich Weyland & Debbie Rigby, Dave & Anne Spendlove, Mitch, Diane and Greg Johnson, Roger & Jill Davis, Rob & Paula Mc Nair, Pugs & Diane, Julie & Don Mc Eligot, Dixie & Bob Jahnke, Kevin & Marie Cowan, Jou Jou & Werner Prochaska and family, and me (Paul Jaroch).
So this turned out quite well and there are plans afoot for a Sunday ride and brunch TBD. Roger & Jill, Larry & Margaret and I are stirring this up and all suggestions are certainly welcome and encouraged.
