Wanted:
Hello, I am a member of the Vintage Triumph Register and live in San Diego.
I am in the process of searching for a 1965 Triumph TR4 and I hope you might be able to help me. The car/chassis number is CT/37854-LO and the engine number is CT/38316-E. I am interested in locating and possibly purchasing the vehicle, in any condition. This is not an idle interest but a serious search. I enjoy restoring classic vehicles and have restored many British motorcycles, including searching for, and finding, my 1967 BSA Hornet. I have just finished a rotisserie restoration on a 1959 Morris Minor Tourer and have started restoring a 1955 Jaguar FHC.
The TR4 was originally purchased in Scottsdale, Arizona in May, 1965. The last known location of my TR4 was Utah in the early 1970’s. Thank you very much for your help in this matter. I look forward to hearing from you. Mike mikeloper@cox.net (1/17/12)
For Sale:
1971 Triumph TR6, around 60,000 miles. Very Good Shape. Engine and transmission overhauled. Suspension overhauled. All brakes and bearing replaced. Soft top and interior like new. Tires new. Painted and slightly off from the original Triumph purple. Bra, car cover, cab cover included. This car belonged to my late husband and was well taken care of. The records on it are meticulous including planned restoration and parts for the future. It has been stored indoors and covered. The car is in Moab, covered and in a garage. I hired someone to look at in April. He said there were things that could be done on the car but not necessary to sell it. He was amazed by my husband’s records to include his to do next list. He had purchased endless parts that will be included. One of his next goals was to replace the plate underneath the car. It is also included. It really is a beautiful car. The guy I hired to look at the car is the one who gave me the description. He has offered to talk with anyone who might be interested in it. Asking $9500. I have a 1964 Spitfire that someday I’d like to drive again. I’m not sure about doing a total restoration, but I’d like to at least fix it up enough to drive for fun. I am rather uneducated about how to go about that and exactly how deep to go – but have been accumulating parts and pieces along the way (over the past 35 years I have purchased a new/replacement bonnet, door, trunk, etc). I think it’s an ok starter I have had since I bought it as my first car in High School. It has a partially rusted out driver side running board and passenger side rear wheel well. The rest is relatively rust free.
It last ran about 3 years ago when I drove into the garage for storage. I think the head needs to be rebuilt because the plugs kept getting fouled. One diagnosis was oil seeping past the worn valve guides – but I’m not sure. Now I have moved to Bountiful, Utah and want to see what it would take to get it running again and looking good. I’d like to talk to someone about what to do and where to turn for help. It’s definitely a passion I can’t seem to grow out of and I’m hoping I’m not the only one with this kind of interest. I’d just like to get some advice on what to do.
I have an old nearly worn out soft top that may need replacement. I’m really interested in finding a hard top and have a connection. Can someone tell me where to look and what to watch out for? Does anyone know where there is one? I see there are a lot of clubs and resources on the internet. Is there a best source for the hard top option and for my other questions above?

For Sale:
I have a 1975 Triumph Spitfire for sale. It is British Racing Green with a completely straight body, but a bad engine. I bought the car two months ago, running, and had the carburetor and brakes redone so that it would pass inspections. Three blocks after picking it up from the shop, it broke down. After trying everything, we finally removed the first spark plug, and it was immediately clear that the engine had thrown a rod by the blown off tip of the spark plug. The exterior and body of this car are in good condition (there are two small but obvious dents and one obvious ~4 inch scratch). The body underneath has only light surface rust and has been garaged for almost all of its 36 year life. The car looks perfect from 20 feet away. The interior is in somewhat gross but perfectly functional condition. It comes with a convertible top, tonneau cover and a set of original headers. The car is currently disassembled, but it can be put back together if that suits your needs. I may be able to help transport the car if you are unable to. Please make me an offer (im open to trade offers). The best way to contact me is to email nchlshbbs@gmail.com. (7/14/11)

1970 Spitfire for sale. Here’s the story I bought the car about six months ago from a guy in American fork who had it for over 3 years in his garage, hoping to make it a father and son project however the first job they did the did wrong and they were unable to get the engine to turnover as they had omitted the spacer plate. I ordered one from spit bits and as soon as it was fitted the car turned over. I have receipts from Spitbits for over $1500 for new parts including stainless exhaust, all weather door and bonnet, boot and rubbers. The cars is not a rust bucket and should make good example. So call me at 801-631-8288 for more details. I have to spend alot of time in bed at the moment so I would prefer phone. Fred Pink (7/1/11)

For Sale:
Up for sale is a 71 tr6. I bought this car about a year ago and have been slowly working on it but need to sell the car to pay for college. When I bought the car it did not run/drive. My father owns a shop in upstate New York that specializes in British sports cars and I worked w/ him for 5/6 years. Being familiar with the cars made it easy for me to work on it . . . the floors are respectable but the car does have body issues and will need attention for the serious enthusiast. Frame is solid. The car has come a long way and I would start to put miles on the car if it was insured/inspected. The car will need a new top and interior . . . I have some parts in boxes and 2 respectable black seats (drivers w/ tear) my plan was to change the interior over to a black one. This is a running driving project tr6. Utah title in hand. I do not want to sell but need the money. I am open to serious offers. Call/text anytime . . . please leave voicemail Evan, 585 309 3017. (6/24/11)
